Description
To introduce the main ideas of Statistics and to prepare the ground for a treatment of Inferential Statistics.

Learning Outcomes
1. Explain and apply by solving problems relevant concepts in the theory of probability.
2. Perform exploratory data analysis to summarise the main features of a data set.
3. Construct confidence intervals.
4. Explain the concepts of random sampling, statistical inference and sampling distribution, and to apply these methods to basic sampling distributions.
