Description
The purpose of this module is introduce students to the reality of a sustained immersion in a business, or business-related organisation. Students will be expected to function as full-time paid employees of these organisations, ideally for 9-12 months, in a role related to their DCU programme. During this time it is intended that they gain the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned previously during their course and the opportunity to reflect both on their performance and learning during the placement.

2. Critically evaluate his/her contribution to the workplacement
3. Analyse a company's structure, processes and personnel procedures based on their workplacement experience
4. Apply university-acquired knowledge to the workplacement
5. Reflect on learning outcomes from a critical event(s) during the INTRA placement
6. Demonstrate reliability, punctuality and application in the relevant placement setting

Report (s) (written / oral)INTRA has 3 assessment elements as follows: 1. During the course of the placement an academic member of staff visits the student and his/her supervisor (by appointment) to ensure everything is satisfactory. If the placement is abroad, this assessment is completed by phone.2. At the end of the placement, each employer is asked to complete an evaluation form relating to the student and the placement in general 3. The student is required to write a 2,000 report on their experience, which must first be submitted to their employer to ensure there is no breach of confidentiality or any other issues of concern. The report has a large reflective section which requires the student to critically evaluate their experience.100%n/a
