Description
This module forms the core of the capstone semester on the MBA, and along with the modules on Personal Leadership Skills and Ethical Issues in Business Leadership, gives this final semester a distinctive 'leadership' signature.The more specific aims of this Strategy, Leadership & Renewal module are:(i) to help participants gain insight into, and perspective on, the special challenges involved in strategic leadership and renewal at the institutional or corporate level, building on the analytical foundations already established in the Business Strategy Module (MT589);(ii) To compliment and reinforce the work being done in the MT5117 Personal Leadership Skills and MT5118 Ethical Issues in Business Leadership modules.

Learning Outcomes
1. Critique the relevant literatures and evaluate the applicability of different perspectives on institutional leadership and strategic management to a range of strategic challenges including corporate governance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), corporate strategy in the multi-business firm and institutional renewal.
2. Identify the most strategically relevant information in a company's published accounts and assess its implications
3. Critique the prevailing change management literature and be able to synthesise and defend coherent and persuasive arguments for the adoption of particular change management strategies
4. Synthesise and defend coherent persuasive arguments for the adoption of particular approaches to a range of strategic and institutional leadership challenges
