Description
The aim of this module is to provide an understanding of the relationship of operations strategy to business strategy and to provide an introduction to the concepts, processes and methods of managing and controlling operations in manufacturing and service environments.

Learning Outcomes
1. Evaluate and describe the nature and differences between operations management and operations strategy
2. Critically appraise the differences between services and products
3. Discuss and criticise the significant factors in the design of operations
4. Comprehend and show the role the customer plays in services operations
5. Determine and illustrate the importance of measuring and managing the creation of service operations
6. Critically show how successful companies have designed and implemented operation strategies
