The module aims to enhance knowledge and understanding of the research process necessary to underpin evidence-based practice in nursing. Students will consider the nature of evidence to underpin nursing practice and engage in structured tutorials focusing on sourcing the best available evidence to underpin decision-making. Students will examine common research approaches used in nursing and consider the rationale underpinning selection. They will critically appraise relevant material to determine its utility to practice and explore possible alternatives that exist and may inform practice. Students will be exposed to a variety of learning activities during the course of the module including lectures & seminars and will be expected to participate actively in the learning process available. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
