Description
In this module, students develop their capacity for working therapeutically with mental health service users through paying particular attention to solution-focused approaches, group work, and psychosocial interventions.

Learning Outcomes
1. Account for particular ways in which mental health nurses can be purposefully helpful in interactions with mental health service users.
2. Explore the case in favour of strengths-based perspectives on helping others.
3. Employ solution-oriented ideas and methods in conversing with mental health service users.
4. Discuss the rationale for group work in mental health care.
5. Plan and conduct group activities in mental health care settings.
6. Explore the principal elements and value of psychosocial interventions in mental health care.
