Description
Child specific module to explore and develop students knowledge of the needs of children with ongoing healthcare needs

Learning Outcomes
1. Analyse the role of the childrens nurse in relation to the assessment, planning and delivery of care to children with ongoing health care needs in a variety of health care settings including the community.
2. Critically examine the pathophysiological processes in the child with ongoing healthcare needs and relate them to the delivery of nursing care.
3. Critically apraise the social, economic, psychological and emotional impact on the child and family of a child with ongoing healthcare needs and the importance of family centered care and play in meeting the holistic needs of each child and their family
4. Determine how and why to apply evidence based practice in relation to the nursing care of the child and family with ongoing health care needs in a variety of healthcare settings including the community
5. Evaluate the role of the childrens nurse in meeting the health promotion and education needs of the child and their family along the life continuum
