Description
To enable the nurse to work within his or her scope of practice to apply evidence based knowledge and skills to the care of individuals with respiratory conditions

Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate the ability to conduct a systematic holistic assessment of a patient with a respiratory condition
2. Assess the patients understanding and personal responsibility for the care of their respiratory condition
3. Facilitate the patient to self manage their condition, where appropriate
4. Plan, implement and evaluate care in consultation with the team and with the patient with a respiratory condition
5. Demonstrate the ability to initiate / interpret / implement current regimes of care for the patient with a respiratory condition
6. Act to enhance the personal and professional development of self and others in relation to the care of people with respiratory conditions
