Description
The module will enable students to develop and exercise initiative and responsibility in practice settings and to develop confidence and independence in care decisions and care delivery within their scope of practice. The module will provide students with an opportunity to consolidate nursing knowledge and experience in preparation for transition from student to staff nurse (RCN).

Learning Outcomes
1. Plan co-ordinate and evaluate the core and complex nursing care for a group of children and their families in a variety of clinical healthcare settings.
2. Communicate effectively with the child, family and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
3. Evaluate the implications of health policy and professional issues in children's nursing.
4. Identify opportunities to apply research findings in nursing practice.
5. Engage in a strutured reflection on the clinical experience.
