Description
This module is the final phase of your internship, it consolidates and integrates knowledge and experience in preparation for your transition from student to registered nurse.During this eighteen weeks you will be allocated to two clinical settings both of eight weeks duration where you will form part of the nursing team working within the multidisciplinary team. You will be allocated a group of patients supported by a preceptor. However you will be expected to act on your own initiative and take responsibility for all aspects of your patients needs.

Learning Outcomes
1. • Accept responsibility for the organisation and delivery of the nursing care of a caseload of patients / clients
2. • Determine appropriate resourses (including staff) effectively in planning and co-ordinating patient care.
3. Apply research-based knowledge to nursing care delivery and health education initiatives.
4. • Demonstrate the ability to undertake complex nursing procedures.
5. • Contribute to the decision making and care planning processes of the health care team.
6. • Identify personal support and professional development needs and access appropriate support resources

Prepare patients for discharge and ensure that they understand the care or treatment necessay following discharge.
