Description
This first internship module will enable the student to consolidate completed theoretical and practical learning by accepting increasing independence and responsibility in caring for patients (adults/children) and their families. This will support the achievement of clinical competence within the learning environment.

Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate increasing independence in nursing care delivery and decision making within scope of practice
2. Accept increasing responsibility for nursing care delivery to a caseload of patients (adults/children) and their families
3. Demonstrate competence in more complex nursing procedures, including medication management
4. Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with patients (adults/children), their families and the multidisciplinary team in both adult and child care settings
5. Apply research findings to nursing practice
6. Identify personal support and professional development needs and access appropriate support resources
