Description
This module will assist students to explore the use of different approaches in research and to evaluate research evidence generally in application to clinical practice. It will also prepare them to develop a research question for their own research study.

Learning Outcomes
1. Have a working knowledge of quantitative designs, data analysis and knowledge transfer
2. Have a working knowledge of qualitative designs, data analysis and knowledge transfer
3. Critically evaluate the knowledge claims of both quantitative and qualitative research approaches
4. Be aware of the ethical considerations relevant in relation to conducting research with human subjects
5. Understand the process of gaining ethical approval
