This module teaches students to recognise and integrate issues of colonisation, oppression, internalisation and liberation into a holistic view of psychotherapy in the context of society. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Learning Outcomes | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
1. Recognise how oppressive social conditions such as colonisation, oppression and liberation can create debilitating psychological patterns such as internalised oppression. 2. Integrate Jungs view of the psyche as an interplay between intrapsychic, somatic and interpersonal, the therapeutic process and life. 3. Refine different theoretical and therapeutic responses to suit the needs of particular clients and client groups within an integrative framework including the creation of treatment plans. 4. Integrete developmental issues in clients and in the therapist/client relationship into their own coherent framework. 5. Critique different perspectives on the reciprocal roles of society and psychotherapy in the context of individuals overall wellbeing | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
