Description
To analyse a range of therapeutic interventions used in the care of people with intellectual disability and mental health issues.

Learning Outcomes
1. Appraise the value of a theraputic relationship with an individual with intellectual disability and mental health issues.
2. Critique the essential nursing priorities required in the care of an individual with intellectual disability and mental health issues.
3. Explain the psycho pharmacological interventions used in practice.
4. Explore the complexity of working with individuals who have intellectual disabilty, mental health issues and challenging behaviour.
5. Examine strategies for building community support networks for people with intellectual disability and mental health issues.
