Description
The student will develop skills associated with the Gestalt, systemic, and cognitive-behavioural traditions, and explore how to integrate these approaches with those of the person-centred and psychosynthetic traditions, both on a theoretical and practical level

Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate skills associated with Gestalt, systemic and cognitive-behavioural models of counselling and psychotherapy including using these skills appropriately within the context of client needs
2. Explain the rationale for a particular therapeutic method to a client with sensitivity and due regard to their individual needs and characteristics
3. Apply a cognitive-behavioural perspective to a clients presentation, e.g., identifying how both environmental and internal states interact with the clients sense of wellness or un-wellness
4. Respond to a client in a manner consistent with the Gestalt school of psychotherapy, e.g. forming hypotheses about the clients presenting problems and utilizing Gestalt techniques to work with clients
5. Demonstrate their personal integration of theory and skills into practice with the personal development necessary for the personal readiness to practice.
