Description
Over the course of this module, students will evolve their own individual style of counselling and psychotherapy using appropriate psychological and therapeutic models, while simultaneously deepening their appreciation of transference, counter-transference, and the therapeutic alliance, and working with unconscious issues.

Learning Outcomes
1. Facilitate clients in uncovering issues related to meaning, value and purpose which the client has experienced and expressed unconsciously
2. Work effectively with clients affective reactions, behaviours and belief systems in social/cultural contexts, drawing from suitable psychological/therapeutic models
3. Recognise when experiences presented by the client constitute instances of oppression and abuse, understanding their social/cultural contexts
4. Identify and articulate their own prejudicial beliefs, attitudes, and behaviours as components to be addressed in his/her self-development as a counsellor
5. Explain and defend their own evolving personal style of counselling and psychotherapy within the framework of the integrative model
6. Leverage the occurrences of transference and counter-transference to deepen the therapeutic process
7. Distinguish the developmental, reparative and transpersonal aspects of the therapeutic alliance
