This module builds on the PPP modules in previous years of the doctoral programme, which incorporates two key course components that run through the entire 4 year Doctoral Programme: professional and personal development; and clinical practice and supervision.There is no taught element to this module. The purpose of this module is to allow students to complete the hours that they require for clinical practice and supervision, professional / personal development in order to further enhance integration of their personal and professional selves and theory, practice and research.In collaboration with students, as advanced practitioners, students will continue to attend personal therapy and engage in clinical practice and clinical supervision. This work will continue to be recorded in their portfolio which provides evidence and a record of their personal and professional development over the duration of the course. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

1. Demonstrate advanced competency in clinical practice with complex cases. 2. Engage in multi-dimensional case conceptualisation and case management and advanced integration of theory, practice and research. 3. Demonstrate critical contextual and ethical sensitivity and decision-making capacity in managing the complexity of the psychotherapy endeavour. 4. Demonstrate increased capacity in personal / professional reflexivity and integration. 5. Demonstrate proficiency in peer supervision and case consultation. 6. Critically appraise a range of models and approaches to clinical practice and supervision 7. Professional & Personal Development. Professional & Personal DevelopmentThrough continued personal and interpersonal experiential inquiry the student will enhance their critical awareness of self-other relationships in the context of psychotherapy practice and supervision. The student will also demonstrate personal and professional reflexivity and integration in their approach to self care and professional / personal boundaries.. Clinical Practice. The student will continue to engage in direct work with clients presenting with complex psychological problems. This work will be carried out in collaboration with other experienced practitioners.. Clinical Supervision. The student will continue to engage in formal supervision of their clinical practice.
