Production of research Project. Under the supervision of the DCU Exchange Coordinator, students will produce a short thesis, written in Spanish, on a subject which may be chosen from any aspect of Spanish or Latin American society, history & politics, language & literature, media, film and the visual arts. The subject chosen may also include comparisons with other European or American societies. The Project will be the outcome of independent research and reading. Consulting with their supervisor as required, students will choose their topic, develop a research methodology, collect and assess relevant materials, and read and analyse a broad range of sources. The thesis will present an argument which combines materials and analysis in a coherent structure, and is expressed in a manner and format in accordance with the norms of academic research. The main argument will develop out of a clearly identified question, proposition or approach to the chosen subject, sated in the introduction, and lead to a conclusion that responds to the initial question. The aim of the Project is to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the chosen subject and its significance for Spanish or Latin American society as a whole, drawing on documentary and other factual sources, theoretical ideas and critical literature, statistical data --perhaps field work-- and personal observations.. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
