Description
This module will introduce the student1. the use of therapeutic modalities in the treatment of musculoskeletal injury2. the scientific basis for the use of therapeutic modalities in Sports Medicine3. alternative medicine options in treating musculoskeletal injury4. the role of the Athletic Therapy and Training student in a multidisiplinary team caring for the health of players and athletes5. participation in journal article critical review

Learning Outcomes
1. Examine current literature on the scientific basis for the use of therapeutic modalities in the treatment of musculoskeletal injury
2. Explain the mechanism of action of commonly used therapeutic modalities
3. List the indications and contraindications for the use of therapeutic modalities
4. Administer therapeutic modalities in a safe and effective manner
5. List commonly used alternative therapies in treating musculoskeletal injury
6. Perform an oral presentation of a journal club article
7. Generate a log-book record of cases seen and activities undertaken in clinical placements and student led clinic
8. Write a detailed case report
9. Perform specific clinical tests in Student led Clinic
