Description
Module Aims:To develop the necessary skills to undertake a research project in an area related to Athletic Therapy and Training. To develop the ability to present, interpret and discuss research results. To develop a team approach where appropriate.

Learning Outcomes
1. Complete an ethical approval application form
2. Design and execute a major research project
3. Critically evaluate pertinent published research
4. Succinctly summarise and critically explain their results in relation to current theories and published research
5. Demonstrate a proficiency in presentation skills

Indicative Content and Learning Activities
Design of a research project.
Plan and design the methodology to be used for the study.

Data collection.
Collect the data for the study.

Data processing.
Appropriately process the study data.

Review of literature.
Identify appropriate research studies and critically evaluate their relevance and findings.

Results and discussion.
Appropriately summarise the results and discuss them in light of previous studies and current theory.

Submit an Ethics Review form.
Complete an ethics review form for the research study.
