Description
This module sets the level A1-A2 from CEFR as its exit level. It aims to build on the competences and skills previously acquired and to introduce students to new features of the language and aspects of the culture. Students will be familiarised with a wider range of everyday situations which go beyond those previously encountered and wich will require the use of additional linguistic skills.

Learning Outcomes
1. Describe past, present and future events.
2. Extract information and translate short passages from Chinese into English.
3. Extract information and translate simple passages from English into Chinese.
4. Write short essays on everyday activities by using at least 350 Chinese characters.
5. Discuss basic issues of relevance to Chinese culture and society.
6. Participate in basic conversations on everyday topics.

Reading Skills.
A variety of texts on topics such as family, everyday life, traveling and festivals will be read, analysed and discussed in a group setting..

Listening Skills.
A variety of conversations will be listened to, analysed and repeated in class..

Writing Skills.
Students will write short texts on given topics by using at least 350 new additional Chinese characters..

Oral Skills.
Students will participate actively in interactive classroom sessions, implement new grammatical structures and speak freely on a given subject..

Role Play.
A variety of everyday social situation will be acted out and discussed in class..
