Description
This module seeks to help students to consolidate their previously acquired language ability in terms of reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Students will learn to express orally and in writing their point of view on familiar topics, and to give a simple description of the basic conditions relating to the topics. Acquisition of additional 200 common Chinese characters and up to 600 words related to daily life and school life and the work place.

Learning Outcomes
1. Read short texts on everyday topics in Chinese characters.
2. Write short texts on everyday topics using Chinese characters.
3. Apply newly acquired Chinese characters and words in speaking and writing.
4. Extract one's ideas and communicate with others on familiar topics.
5. Demonstrate awareness of grammatical structures.
6. Understand essential aspects of Chinese culture, including interpersonal relations and basic value-systems.

Reading Skills.
A variety of texts on topics such as work, traveling and shopping will be read, analysed and discussed in a group setting..

Listening Skills.
A variety of conversations will be listened to, analysed and repeated in class..

Writing Skills.
Students will write short texts, creative and formal, on given topics by using the 200 new characters..

Oral Skills.
Students will participate actively in interactive classroom sessions, implement new grammatical structures and speak freely on a given subject..

Role Play.
A variety of everyday situations will be acted out and discussed in class..
