This module introduces students to critical approaches to key modernist, feminist and post-colonial texts by Irish, American and British authors as well as works in translation. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

1. Evaluate theories of Modernism and Modernity 2. Analyse the main artistic movements and tendencies within Modernism 3. Appraise the key components of a selection of Modernist works of art indifferent media 4. Reflect on the influence of Modernist values and techniques on thedevelopment of literatures of the Twentieth Century 5. Analyse the ways in which historical, political and cultural developmentsimpact on the literatures of the Twentieth Century 6.
