News article added on May 18 2012

CIS is part of an international consortium which has been awarded a grant of €190,000 euros to explore study the interaction between civil society, international donors and domestic political forces operating at different levels of the state in the former Soviet Union, during the process of democratisation. The research, led in DCU by Dr Donnacha O Beachain, will examine the factors that allow civil society and international donors to play a role in effective pluralisation and democratization of a country and also the mechanisms that promote or prevent the diffusion those factors across different countries in the region.
