There has been a significant growth in the number and range of organisations involved in international governance combined with the growing number of national organisations or international non-governmental organisations (NGOs) who now interact with such international organisations.
The MA in International Organisations (MAIO) programme will introduce students to the different perspectives on international and regional integration and explore how international organisations interact with national governments and civil society.
The graduate programme is highly regarded in Ireland and internationally and provides a challenging and innovative learning environment. It is anticipated that the class will be made up of a mix of recent graduates and those with some relevant work experience and also a mix of Irish and international students.
The MA in International Organisations is normally offered on a full-time basis over one year.
Applicants will normally have an honours primary degree or equivalent, but applicants with appropriate combinations of professional qualifications and experience may also, on the basis of the relevant University regulations and procedures, be offered places.

Graduates of the Dublin City University Graduate Programme in International Governance work for development agencies such as Trócaire, Goal, Amnesty International, Concern and Oxfam. Many also work for major multinational organisations, financial services companies in the media and in international business.
The MA Programme features seminars and presentations by guest speakers with particular experience and expertise, be it as politicians, officials, academics or diplomats, in foreign policy and international relations. The intention is to facilitate the exploration of key issues in international relations in an informal, interactive environment. Amongst previous guest speakers in DCU have been:
