OUTCOMES

The major outcome of this research project will be a substantial document outlining the current situation and making recommendations for optimising the potential benefits and minimising conflicts within the intercultural workplace in Ireland. An interim report will detail the current situation and provide a preliminary analysis, followed by the final complete report including recommendations and frameworks for developing an interculturally effective and successful workplace. The Intercultural Workplace Project Report will constitute a crucial stepping stone in the future of intercultural awareness and related skills development in Ireland.

In the academic sphere, the project will feed back into the Masters level modules offered by the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies and thus equipm future students with practice based knowledge and skills.

SALIS will be in a position to offer short training courses for businesses on intercultural management strategies.

A final conference on the topic will also be hosted in 2004.
