Creating Search Alerts
Alert services allow you to keep up to date with the latest research in your field of study. Updates are delivered to you via email or RSS feed as soon as they are published. Alert services are available in most of DCU library's databases. The most commonly used services are:
- Table of Contents Alerts (TOC). Have the table of contents of selected journals sent to you by email, in some cases even before they have been published.
- Save Search Alerts (SSA) If you conduct a search in a database, you can save the search and have it run automatically at specific intervals (weekly, monthly). You will be sent an email with the details of new articles published on your topic of interest.
- Citation Alerts - available from Web of Science. Receive an alert whenever a key paper is cited.
If you would like to find out more about alerting services, or require help setting them up, contact your Subject Librarian.
