Study Areas
The Library provides a variety of learning and study facilities. You can choose to work
quietly on your own at a PC, sit in a comfortable chair and read, or work with a group of
students in one of our many collaborative study areas.
Group Study
We have 17 collaborative study rooms which can be
booked
through your Portal page
by students for up to 1 hour or 2 hours at a time. Here’s a map
of their exact location. The rooms cater for groups of 6-8 students.
The Library’s Mentoring Suite is a large room on the ground floor of the library and
may be used by
students engaged in peer-mentoring programmes. It is also available to all students for collaborative learning purposes.
Taught Postgraduate students
Taught postgraduate students can avail of a quiet room on the first floor of the Library and use the Training Room (outside of training hours) on the lower ground floor for quiet PC use.
Research Masters and PhD students
Research students have access to the Research Commons which includes a lounge and reading area (with dedicated laptop power and network points) a lobby housing PCs with full network access and a self-booking meeting room.
Quiet Study Areas
All areas except the collaborative study facilities are designated for quiet study.
