Started as a knitting machine business but diversified into camera support when the owner discovered how expensive such items were for his hoppy. Great to see someone take on the big guys at their own game.

One of the top three Japanese camcorder manufacturers. Often underestimated, but technically excellent products at good value for money prices. Particularly strong in the professional (corporate) and educational sector. Definately worth checking out the latest DV models, some of which offer widescreen capability. Note the new HDV model, which has great picture quality and can be connected via Firewire to your Mac. JVC have plans to bring out more HDV camcorders within the coming year.

A French company which produces well designed external hard drives, and DVD machines. Hard drives come in both 400mbs and the newer 800mbs Firewire varients. Capacities vary up to 1.5TB and are suitable for video storage and backup. If you have to carry around video files between locations then check out the Pocket drives, currently available up to 80GB and sporting USB2 and Firewire connections.
