These links detail some of companies involved in broadcast, commercials,
government and general video production. Many also provide post-production
facilites for completion work or studio hire.

Production Links 02 for now focuses on a very small representative sample

Celstudios

A division of RTE, Celstudios are involved in high-end
production covering, commercials, TV programmes, promos., viral videos,
music and corporate videos etc. The company also created the first Surround
Sound post-production work for an advert. featuring Chemistry's clients
The Mortgage Store, which was shown in cinemas in Dublin, Cork and Waterford.

Dillon Productions have over twenty years experience in video and television
production, and tend to specialize in training videos especially for Health
& Safety. Other formats include Staff Induction, First Aid, Working
with Chemicals, and Bullying in the Workplace. Clients include Apple,
Roadstone, Compaq, 3Com, Dublin Port, Esat Digitfone, the Southern Health
Board and Xerox among many others.

Well known for its TG4 idents, Dynamo describes itself
as a "hybrid communications company" and an examination of its
work and client portfolio explains why. Its talented team produce work
across a variety of media including brand identity design, motion graphics,
interactive design, literature design, name generation, direct marketing,
print and copy writing as well as packaging for consumer brands. Dynamo
has received a total of 28 individual accolades as well as nominations
from the Institute of Creative Advertising and Design and the IDI National
Design Awards. Its client list includes Nissan Ireland, Volvo Europe,
Bulmers, Glanbia, TG4, EMI Europe, MTV Europe, Sony and A-wear plus others.

Professional
High Wire

A post-production facility for editing, graphics and effects as well as
subtitling. High Wire's work has included titles for the 'No Frontiers
Top 10' TV promo, and for 'What Movie' the movie preview series, effects
for Fish Film's commercial 'Remember the 90's' and 'Loose Thread's' pop
video. Online and grading work for a travel documentary series ccalled
'Machan sa tSin' (Machan Magan explores China), as well as compositing
and grading for 'Eireville' TG4/Filmbase Short Films.

From initial script, through treatment, programme planning, production

Reelgood

Established in 1986, the company provides digital
post-production services for advertising agencies, production companies,
broadcasters and other communication providers.
The Farm

Involved in some sophisticated post-production work, including 2D and
3D design, animation, computer graphics and compositing. Other services
include offline, and online editing, grading, finishing, tape duplication
and transfers, aspect ratio conversions, DVD authoring and encoding. Production
facilities are available for hire which are all state-of-the-art, HD and
multi-standard, multi-format capable. Regular
viewers of RTE will be aware of the tense drama series 'Proof' a joint
Irish/Danish co-production, in which The Farm provided offline, and online
editing, 'Flame' effects and graphic design. The
company was nominated for 7 promos in 5 categories in the 2003 Promax
UK awards. Four of The Farm's projects from 2003 were also nominated for
awards for the 2004 Celtic Film and Television Festival.
Tyrone Productions

Founded in 1987 by John McColgan and Moya Doherty, Tyrone Productions
is part of the Abhann Management Group. Abhann Productions, produced the
world touring ‘phenomenon’ Riverdance. The opening ceremony
for the Special Olympics 2003 was also a Tyrone production. The company
categorises their broadcast work under seven areas: Entertainment; Drama;
Documentary; Special Events; Daytime; Current Affairs and Childrens. If
you browse their lists you will recognize many familiar programmes. A
list of work in progress is also available on their website, which includes
Historical Dramas, Black Comedy, and a fair number of new documentaries.
Among the latter are Women Rule, DIY Discoverers and ‘One Small
Step’, a 3 x 1 hour series which “merges science and bibliography”.
It provides a fascinating insight into the high price that some had to
pay at the peak of the space race.
Of particular note is the fact that there are two very talented ex-DCU
students among the staff involved in production work.
They are Joanne McGrath and Pauline McNamara, both B.A. in Communications
graduates.
Windmill Lane

One of Ireland's leading production and post-production
houses. The chances are that you will some of their work during any normal
day's TV viewing. Windmill categorise their activities as: Communications
- TV based content with delivery on multiple formats, including video
tape, CD-ROM, Satellite, Content Delivery Networks and DVD; Interactive
- providing strategies, web development, design, content management build
and implementation; Facilities - hiring of camera crews, creative TV and
film post-production editors, special effects (note the spfx for Star
Gate SG1 on their website) and Parliamentary broadcasts.
