Ageing and caring

A major new book addressing approaches to supporting ageing well has been published by Professor Des O'Neill, a consultant geriatrician at Tallaght Hospital in Dublin. He is a contributor to national media and writes regularly in the Irish Times on ageing. He received an All-Ireland Inspirational Life Award in 2010 for his work encouraging older people to lead active and fulfilling lives. He is also a member of DCU's Age Friendly University External Advisory Board.
Ageing and Caring provides advice on the complexities of ageing, covering an array of issues that older people and their carers may face; from practical advice on remaining active in retirement, to guidance on coping with a loss of independence. This book underlines the importance of well-being in old age and offers practical advice on how to maintain a happy and fulfilling life, whatever the challenges.
