From Findings to Co-Creation: The Memorable Project’s Next Chapter!

Over 64,000 people in Ireland are currently living with dementia, a number expected to exceed 150,000 by 2045. At the Memorable Project, we continue to advance key stages of our work to support dementia-inclusive cultural engagement.

A few weeks ago, we presented our qualitative findings at Taste of DCU 2025, an educational open-day designed to introduce older people to DCU’s academic, cultural, and wellness opportunities. During the session, participants shared personal reflections, and we explored how cultural spaces can become more inclusive and welcoming for people living with dementia and their supporters.

We have now entered the next phase of the project, holding our first co-creation workshop this week. Professionals and individuals with lived experience of supporting someone with dementia came together to exchange insights, reflect collectively, and begin shaping training that will strengthen dementia-inclusive cultural practice.

This collaborative process marks an important step toward ensuring cultural spaces are meaningful, accessible, and enriching for everyone!
