A new EPALE article by Dr Christine O’Kelly, Director of the DCU Age-Friendly University Unit, examines how museums, galleries, theatres and cultural organisations can become more welcoming for people living with dementia. It presents DCU’s leadership in developing the MEMORABLE training curriculum, which equips cultural professionals across Europe with practical, evidence-based approaches to inclusion and accessibility.

Dublin City University (DCU), through its internationally recognised Age-Friendly University Programme, has led the development of the MEMORABLE training curriculum for cultural professionals. Drawing on extensive expertise in lifelong learning, age-friendly education, curriculum design, and co-creation with older adults, DCU has developed a learning framework that combines evidence-based practice with practical application.
