DCU AFU Participants Win Four Medals at U3A Senior Olympics in Slovakia

DCU Age-Friendly University participants have returned from the 15th U3A Senior Olympics in Zvolen, Slovakia, with four medals following a week of sporting competition, cultural activities and international exchange.

The DCU AFU team achieved an impressive set of results across several events, winning gold and bronze medals in table tennis, silver in shooting and bronze in bowling.

Participants also took part in archery, athletics, Zumba and other activities during the programme. The week also included cultural activities, lectures and opportunities for participants to exchange experiences with other Universities of the Third Age.

DCU AFU’s participation was supported through Erasmus+ Adult Education funding.

The experience reflects DCU Age-Friendly University’s commitment to supporting lifelong learning and creating opportunities for older people to participate in international university life.
