DCU Graduate wins AIDEX Photojournalism Award

Congratulations to Communications Studies graduate, Victor Lacken on being named winner of the inaugural AIDEX Photojournalism prize for his work last year on the Ebola outbreak in Liberia. In the photo above (Monrovia, September 2014) a Liberian Red Cross volunteer talks to Ebola survivor Mary Perkins (left) in the Paynesville district of Monrovia. The Liberian Red Cross provides psychosocial support and counselling to people traumatized by the Ebola epidemic that swept the country in 2014 and 2015, including survivors and those bereaved by the diseased. You can view more of his award winning work here
