DCU Alumni build profesional life in Spain
DCU Alumni were among over 90 attendees at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, a DCU partner university for the 3rd edition of the SIBN Spanish Irish Business Network Careers Event. The event provides students and alumni both from DCU and other Irish universities, with insights, inspiration, and connections to help navigate the Spanish job market.
Spain has become a key destination for Irish students during their Erasmus year or final years of study, particularly for programs like DCU’s BA in Global Business (Spain), where students spend two years in Madrid, including an internship. This event helps those students navigate Spain’s challenging employment market.
The event featured a rich panel discussion titled “Building a Career in Madrid,” moderated by Sam Jones, a DCU Global Business Spain alumnus and which included DCU Alumna Rachel Barret, BA International Marketing and Languages, HR Site Topics such as language barriers, building a network and navigating a highly competitive job market were central to the discussion, leading to some really valuable insights and advice.
The evening concluded with networking co-sponsored by DCU Alumni Relations, Irish Embassy Spain and International Partnership of Business Schools (IPBS Network), a partner of DCU Business School.
DCU Alumni Relation thanks Sam Jones and his colleagues for creating this opportunity for DCU Alumni based in and around Madrid.
