DCU Summer Program for Autistic Students in July 2026

πŸŽ“ What is this programme?
It is a three-day event designed to give autistic students an "introductory experience" of college life. The goal is to make the transition to higher education feel less overwhelming.

πŸ€”The purpose of the program

It aims to bridge the gap between secondary education and higher education by preparing you for the academic and practical aspects of university life.

βœ… Who can attend?

You are eligible to register if you fall into one of these two groups:

  1. Current Students: You have completed your 5th or 6th year of secondary school.
  2. Young Adults: You are under 23 and considering going to college.

πŸ“ What will happen there?

The program is facilitated by DCU staff and student ambassadors. You will learn about:

  • The social side of college and academic life
  • Find out what help is available for students
  • Get familiar with the physical layout of the campus
  • The lived experience of college from autistic students and staff
