In alignment with the EU Green Deal and Paris Agreement, this research evaluates both mandatory and voluntary environmental KPIs used by European airlines. It considers four mandatory reporting schemes (EU-ETS, CORSIA, ESG, ReFuelEU) and explores how non-mandatory ESG metrics are selected via data mining and AI tools. The paper highlights the ongoing issue of standardization in environmental reporting and provides a consolidated view of how airlines demonstrate environmental accountability
