Academic biography

Dr. Melda Hasiloglu-Ciftciler is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management at DCU Business School. She holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Eskisehir Technical University, where her research focused on developing dynamic pricing and inventory management strategies to reduce food waste while maximizing profitability. She also holds a second PhD from Trinity Business School, where her research examines sustainable supply chains with a focus on green products, circular fashion take-back programs, and consumer behavior.

Her research has been published in leading international journals such as Computers and Industrial Engineering and Computers and Operations Research, and she has presented her work at major conferences including EURO and POMS.

Dr. Hasiloglu-Ciftciler’s research lies at the intersection of operations management, sustainability, and consumer behavior. She employs analytical approaches, such as game theory, dynamic programming, and optimization, to investigate how firms can design strategies that are both economically viable and environmentally responsible.

Before joining DCU, she served as an Assistant Lecturer at Maynooth University School of Business and held teaching and research roles at Trinity Business School during her PhD studies. She has also supervised several MSc theses and Business Consulting Projects on operations management, supply chain management, and business analytics.
