Academic biography
Prof Pierangelo Rosati is Professor in Management at DCU Business School, where he leads postgraduate applied consultancy projects and industry-engaged learning focused on digital business and analytics. Building on previous roles at DCU and the University of Galway, his work bridges research, teaching and practice to support organisations navigating digital transformation and the responsible adoption of emerging technologies. His research examines the business value and societal implications of digital technologies, with particular emphasis on data analytics, cybersecurity, digital sustainability, technology acceptance, and the digital transformation of towns and cities.
He is a Funded Investigator at Lero, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software. He has been involved in a range of international, industry-collaborative projects funded by Horizon Europe and other national and international agencies, and contributes regularly to public and policy debates on topics such as privacy, trust and the governance of AI-enabled systems. Prof Rosati's work has been published in leading journals including European Accounting Review, Computers in Human Behavior, European Journal of Finance, New Media & Society and Information Technology & People, as well as edited volumes on digital business and sustainability.
He is a Series Editor of the Palgrave Studies in Digital Business & Enabling Technologies book series and a Senior Editor of the journal Information Technology & People. He holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Chieti-Pescara and an MSc in Management and Business Administration from the University of Bologna, and has held visiting positions at universities in Mexico, the United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal and Australia.
