Careers Fair to feature more than 100 employers
The DCU Careers Service will host over 100 companies and organisations for this year’s Careers Fair, showcasing employment opportunities to Dublin City University’s final year Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.
The Careers Fair is taking place in the Helix on Monday, 6 October, and Tuesday, 7 October, and gives students the opportunity to meet prospective employers, learn about their companies, graduate jobs schemes, and explore future options.
The Careers Fair is divided up into two days:
Monday, 6 October: Business, Accounting, Finance and Law
Tuesday, 7 October: Science, Technology and Engineering
This event contributes to the high level of graduate employability in DCU as highlighted in our latest Graduate Outcome Survey results from this year, which indicates that 92% of DCU students are in employment or further study six to nine months after graduation. We are delighted that EY is the main sponsor of this year’s Careers Fairs.
Yvonne McLoughlin, DCU Head of Careers Service explains:
“This year's Careers Fair is more than just a job expo; it's a direct link between our students and future employers. Bringing over 100 employers to campus across two days - one for Business, Accounting, Finance and Law on 6th October, and the other for Science, Technology and Engineering on 7th October - are creating a unique space for students to have meaningful, face-to-face conversations. This is where they can ask specific questions, gain insights into graduate programmes, a variety of job opportunities and discover what it's truly like to work for these top companies.”
Students are encouraged to do their research before attending the Fair.
“The Careers Fair is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable insights into the variety of jobs and opportunities that their degree can lead to, which in turn can help them make more informed career choices,” says DCU Careers Consultant Venita Murphy.
“Students will get the chance to network with employers and find out about their companies and the job roles they are advertising. It is important that students prepare for attending the Fair by doing their research on the companies beforehand to allow them to have more focused discussions on the day and help them decide what companies they would like to apply to. These interactions will also strengthen their future job applications.” Ms Murphy added.
