R.S.C. Schools Analyst Competition

Schools Analyst Regional Heat Competition

Each Spring, DCU hosts a Regional Heat of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Schools Analyst Competition. The competition is open to 5th year students who are studying Leaving Certificate Chemistry and teams consist of three students who take part in a problem solving experiment in our undergraduate teaching laboratories.

Prizes are awarded to the top three teams and the winning team will be invited to represent the Region at the finals in the UK. The DCU winning team will compete against Irish- and UK-based teams where the UK students are taking AS Levels in Chemistry.

The finals are hosted by a different UK University each year. Bangor will be hosting the final in 2018 on the 21st and 22nd June. The DCU winning team will compete against Irish- and UK-based teams where the UK students they will compete against are taking AS Levels in Chemistry.
