The CHRCE was delighted to welcome Dr. Elif Karsli, Dr. Aysel Saricaoglu and their student teachers from TED University, Ankara, Turkey to the IoE in December. The visit was part of a wider project exploring different responses to Syrian and global migration from a teacher education perspective. As part of the visit our Turkish visitors had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with our Global and Intercultural minor specialism students and to visit Pelletstown Educate Together National School. Brian Ruane, CHRCE and lecturer in citizenship education, also facilitated a number of sessions with the group, looking at diversity and inclusion in schools and classrooms. The project is funded by the US State Department for Boston College alumni.
