I chose the MSc in Public Policy due to its strong reputation, the variety of subject modules and the flexibility in teaching approaches which was essential given the demands of my full-time role.
The programme struck an excellent balance between academic rigour with practical application. Assignments and presentations were grounded in the realities of day-to-day public policy and public affairs work, ensuring learning remained challenging but relevant to professional practice
The team supporting the MSc were excellent in terms of their knowledge, expertise and support acknowledging they were teaching part time students who were often juggling professional and personal responsibilities.
The Rapid Evidence Assessment (REA) was a particularly valuable team assignment for several reasons. The methodology proved very effective, enabling us to answer a real-world research question quickly. Working with an external partner on a live policy issue, who ultimately published our final report, enhanced the experience further
Undertaking the MSc has enhanced my professional capacity and effectiveness, particularly in driving systems change and promoting evidence informed policy and practice within my work.
