Biographical Details

Dr. Orna Farrell is Assistant Professor and Programme Chair of DCU Connected Humanities.

Orna is currently Chair of DCU Connected Humanities, which are online open access undergraduate degrees aimed at adult students. Orna holds a BA (Hons) in Arts, an  MA in  History and a Higher Diploma in Secondary Teaching from University College Dublin, and a Phd in Education from Trinity College. Orna's doctoral study explored online students learning experiences with eportfolio.

Working within DCU’s National Institute for Digital Learning Orna's research interests include online teaching and learning, online student success and engagement, eportfolio based learning. Orna is principal investigator of the National Forum funded project #Openteach: professional development for open online educators. Orna is a founding member of Eportfolio Ireland, a professional learning network for eportfolio practitioners and researcher. 

Doctoral supervision
Orna is available to supervise doctoral students in the areas of blended, online and digital learning in a range of educational settings.
