On Monday 23 March, the Dublin European Law Institute (DELI) will host a roundtable discussion on Decarbonization, Trade, and Competitiveness in Troubled Times from 3 pm to 5.00 pm at Europe House, in partnership with the European Parliament Liaison Office in Ireland. Registration is open to the public.

As global trade tensions intensify and security concerns loom large, the European Union faces increasing difficulty in sustaining its leadership in climate action—both domestically and in multilateral fora—while safeguarding its competitiveness. The discussion will examine how the EU can reconcile these objectives in an increasingly fragmented and uncertain global environment.

The roundtable will be chaired by Jennifer Duggan, Dublin Bureau Chief at Bloomberg. It will feature Devin McDaniels (Counsellor of Trade & Environment, World Trade Organization – WTO), Prof. Simone Borghesi (Director of the Florence School of Regulation – Climate, EUI, and Vice Rector, University of Siena), Dr. Vincent Power (Partner, A&L Goodbody), and Dr. Goran Dominioni (Assistant Professor of Environmental Law and Policy, DCU). The event will conclude with a question-and-answer session moderated by the chair and open to the audience.
