The DCU Centre for Family Business in collaboration with the DCU Leadership and Talent Institute will run its third interactive workshop on Thursday 16th November as part of the Women in Leadership series.
With three remarkable women planning to share their stories of perserverance, courage and resilience, both personal and professional, this event will address the unique challenges faced by female leaders, and the inspirational ways in which these difficulties can be conquered.
- Peaches Kemp, co-founder of Itsa Bagel: Having co-founded Itsa with her siste Domini in 1999, the Kemps now have 15 outlets incorporating several brands. Itsa Bagel, Itsa Cafés, Joe’s Coffee, Feast Catering, Table Restaurant, Hatch & Sons and Alchemy Juice Co. Itsa is director owned and run and employs over 120 people.
- Orlaith Carmody, managing director of Gavin Duffy & Asociates: As a well-known communications expert in Ireland and overseas, Orlaith’s day job is working with leaders in the world’s top companies delivering executive training programmes, and preparing leadership teams for frontline communications. Orlaith is also the author of a recent bestselling book, Perform As a Leader.
- Rosyln Bell, director of Commonhall Apartments: A serial entrepreneur with a multi-million-pound property empire, Roslyn is a survivor, inspirational speaker, business coach, advocate for women in business and author. Roslyn’s message is one of courage, self-belief and determination to make it happen against all the odds.
In creating the series, the DCU Centre for Family Business and the DCU Leadership and Talent Institute sought to ignite essential conversations around inclusivity and diversity in leadership and family business, with a view to developing new ideas.
Guest presentations will be followed by expert clinics where participants will be given an opportunity to take part in more in-depth discussions and Q&A sessions facilitated by DCU Business School experts, Dr Melrona Kirrane, Dr Janine Bosak and Professor Maura McAdam.
