Temporal Mappings by Shreyashi Das

Research Overview:

This project conducts an eco-temporal study of magical realist fiction from South Asia.  In doing so, it seeks to find nuanced ways of representing time in the South Asian  literary imaginaries, to visiblize narratives; that due to their temporal distance from the point of origin, are often rendered invisible by the  dominant narrative of “presentism”.

• Poster presentation for a sustainability conference in TU Dublin.
• Participated and presented paper at the 3 Day PhD Course in Ecocriticism at the University of Agder.
• Presented a paper at a Symposium titled “Temporalities of Permacrisis” at Tallinn University.
• Broader Community Engagement: Offering a course on Climate Fiction as a Community Tutor at Glasnevin Campus for DCU in the Community.
• Co-organizer of the 9th South Asian Conference to be held in DCU (13-15th April, 2026)

• Paper selected for presentation at the 9th South Asian Conference.
