Voyages: An Exhibition Curated by Children for Children

Twelve young members of The Ark’s Children’s Council explored their art collection to create this playful, imaginative exhibition, kicking off The Ark’s Arts Council Children and Young People’s Arts Residency at the Institute of Education for the second year. Discover their colourful creations and see what happens when young minds take the wheel!

Voyages

An exhibition curated by children, for children — and the young at heart!

Presented by The Ark, the Arts Council’s children and young people’s arts organisation in residence at DCU 2025/26, Voyages invites you to set sail on a journey where young voices take the lead in the world of art.

To mark The Ark’s 30th birthday, twelve young people aged 10 to 17—current members and alumni of The Ark’s Children’s Council—came together over seven creative workshops to explore The Ark’s visual art collection. With guidance from artist and collaborator Róisín White, they learned the art of curation and shaped this one-of-a-kind exhibition. At DCU's Cregan library, you'll see a selection of these works for the month of September and for Culture Night on September 19th.

Voyages is a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and imagination, showing what happens when young minds take the wheel. Colourful, playful, and full of energy, this exhibition is proudly curated by children, for children.
