Student Impact Awards 2026
Dublin City University came together this week to celebrate the remarkable achievements, dedication, and community spirit of its student clubs at the annual Student Impact Awards. The event recognised individuals and teams whose passion, leadership, and commitment have elevated sport and student life across the university throughout the year.
From fresher standouts to long‑serving contributors, the awards highlighted the breadth of talent and the vibrant culture that defines DCU’s community.
Two exceptional fresher students were honoured for their immediate impact:
- Best Male Club Fresher: Gabriel Siruma – Volleyball Club & Archery Club
- Best Female Club Fresher: Emilija Latvyte – Archery Club
Both students have demonstrated impressive dedication and enthusiasm, quickly becoming integral members of their respective clubs.
The Individual Contribution to Club Life awards acknowledged students who have gone above and beyond to support their clubs:
- Aine O’Rourke – Rock Climbing Club
- Ehis Oghina – DCU Soccer Club
- Iman Mabadeje – Gymnastics & Trampolining Club
- Niall Golden – Swimming & Waterpolo Club
- Ryan Winters – Outdoor Adventure Club
- Anna Prie – CLC, Gymnastics & Trampolining Club & Swimming & Waterpolo Club
- Finn Woodger – DCU Athletics Club
These students were recognised for their leadership, volunteerism, and commitment to building strong, inclusive communities within their clubs.
DCU clubs also shone in categories celebrating creativity and outreach:
- Best Club Photograph: Men’s Rugby Club
- Best Club Promotional Video: Volleyball Club
- Best Club Poster: Archery Club
Additional awards celebrated outstanding contributions and sporting excellence:
- Graduate Contribution to a Club or Society: Alizee Leleu, Sub Aqua Club
- Sports Scholar of the Year: Emma Moore, Athletics Club
- Sports Personality of the Year: Dannah O’Brien, Rugby Club
- Team of the Year: Athletics Club – Men’s & Women’s Road Relays Teams
- Most Promising Club: Table Tennis Club
- Club of the Year: Soccer Club
